Maja Vodanovic, a borough councillor for Lachine, announced in a statement Monday that she is resigning from Équipe Dauphin Lachine and will sit as an independent instead.
Vodanovic is leaving the party two weeks after corruption allegations surfaced against borough mayor and party leader Claude Dauphin.
Details of the investigation into Dauphin, a former Liberal MNA who has been mayor of the Lachine borough since 2001, were revealed in an affidavit by an investigator with the Unité permanente anticorruption, Quebec’s anti-corruption squad, this month.
