The Fauna of the St Lawrence River – École St-Rémi

The students combined their luminous haiku peoms with their original interpretations of the St-Lawrence wildlife, conveying the connection which exists between them and the natural world.

 

A public exhibition of their work was held at Centennial Hall, Beaconsfield and the Montreal Biosphere.

In collaboration with Maja Vodanovic, teacher Carole Flexmann, urban planner Denis Chabot,  biologist Véronique Vendette, city cultural director Michèle Janis, the children initiated a mission to clean up the Meadowbrook stream which runs by the school, 5 years later the stream is well on its way to recovery. Bravo to all who helped in this effort!
