
Maja first built her career as a painter, dedicating many years to her artistic practice. She studied Art History at McGill University and Fine Arts at Concordia University, and her work has been represented by renowned galleries in Montreal, Toronto, and Baie-Saint-Paul.
After more than 12 years in politics, including several years as Mayor of Lachine, Maja is now entering a new chapter. Throughout her career, she has led impactful initiatives rooted in the common good. (learn more)
At the same time, her visual arts practice has continued to evolve as a space for exploration focused on beauty, light, and meaning. This dual path — both artistic and civic — now leads her to redefine her practice and expand her impact.
She now dedicates her time to her artistic practice and to teaching the arts. Civic engagement remains at the heart of her mission, particularly in connection with environmental protection. Through her work, she aims to inspire, raise awareness, and act.
